By the time this comes out, the mid-term elections will be in the count and recount mode, Trunk-or-Treat 2026 will be history, and you will be making plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It is a special two months for the senior community here at Edgewood. One thing planned is a celebration of Veteran’s Day on November 11. In our meeting that day we will be taking a break in our series of Women in the Early Church to recognize our veterans. It will be a time for them to share some memories of their time in service. We will also recognize November Birthdays in that meeting. Even if you don’t regularly attend on Wednesdays, we want to encourage you to give it a try that day.
Looking at the calendar for November and December we will take a break on the day before Thanksgiving, Nov 25. Many of our group are either traveling that day or baking goodies. We have traditionally taken that Wednesday off. Our daughter is hosting our family this year and has announced the main dish will be Turkey, mushroom and sage white lasagna and butternut squash and spinach lasagna, stuffed acorn squash and cranberry sauce. Should be interesting. Will this become a new tradition? Do you have a traditional Thanksgiving dish?
In December we have traditionally had a gift exchange and plan to continue that again this year on Wednesday, December 16. So, start thinking about what you want to bring. We will be sharing finger foods that day in place of our normal brown-bag lunch. More details in next month’s edition.
We are nearing the end of our series on Women in the Early Church and will go right into our next series when we finish this one. As always, we meet each Wednesday at noon in the Student Center. We eat during the first half hour then have our program and finish with a prayer time. We finish by 1:30.
We invite you to join us as we welcome new faces.
Any questions just call or text Randy or the church office.
A reminder that in case of inclement weather if the Edmonds schools are closed, so are we. You can also check with Randy or the church office if in doubt.
