Spring is here, Summer is around the corner

Good morning, Edgewood family. It’s May!  We are past Easter, past the book of Luke, a few weeks into the book of Hebrews, we had Women’s Bruch last Saturday, we have Men’s Breakfast this Saturday, we have another Wednesday night family dinner coming up on the 27th and Summer is right around the corner.  In fact, the weather the last week or so has felt like summer hitting the upper 70’s.  Praise the Lord.  This is especially entering the time of year where “the heavens declare the glory of the Lord” around here in the Pacific Northwest.

So, what’s next?  Besides diving into the book of Hebrews, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July, and probably some summer family excursions, Outreach is next! What does that mean? It means praying for people you encounter in everyday life who may not have the hope of the Lord and Jesus as their Savior.  It means looking for opportunities to connect with those people you are praying for and being a good listener.  It means building relationships for the glory of God.  It means getting out of our comfort zones and offering a prayer, and when appropriate giving a short testimony of your salvation story.

I am so excited to be a part of Edgewood during this season of revitalization.  Because that means God is working and we are looking for God to work in our lives and in the lives of those around us.  Expectation of active kingdom living, starts with quiet prayer and intentional thinking about God’s plans and purposes.  So, in addition to your plans and purposes, those wonderful desires and passions God places inside of us that have to do with going to work/school, having fun in recreation, and resting our minds and bodies each night, let us put our thoughts on the things above that not only connect with our relationship with Jesus but how that impacts our relationship with others.

To get everyone started here I give you, “FRANCES.” Frances is an acronym to remember who you are praying for.

Friends
Relatives
Acquaintances
Neighbors
Colleagues
Enemies
Strangers

Write down a name or two by each of those categories of people in your life that you will pray for, look for opportunities to connect, listen to, and share your testimony with.  This is a BAHG (Big Audacious Hairy Goal).

May God be with you,

Pastor Ronnie
