As I write this month’s newsletter input, I don’t know what we will be studying next. The reason for that is you, the folks who attend our weekly meetings, will decide on Wednesday August 5. We will be reviewing the three candidates on Wednesday and decide together.  The three candidates from RightNow Media are: The Narrow Path, “How the Subversive Way of Jesus Satisfies our Souls”; Women Leaders in The Early Church, “The Often-Overlooked Stories of Women Leaders in the Early Church”; and The Book of Second Thessalonians, “A Steady Faith in Shaky Times”. I know by the time you get this on Wednesday we will be meeting and deciding. All three look like good studies.

We missed a couple of meetings last month as the church prepared for and staged Vacation Bible School. Kris Harris led an enthusiastic team of adults and young people. Children’s lives were blessed through this, our first VBS since Covid 19. Well done to all who participated. I have it on good report that the treats prepared this year were creative and top notch. A big push right at the end made it all come off.

I want to encourage anyone in the church who is available on Wednesdays at noon to give our group a try. I know after I first retired, I was reluctant to attend. What in the world do these old people do for 90 minutes every Wednesday anyway? Well, I got involved, thanks to Gary Stabbert, and found it to be a great time with old and new friends. We bring a brown bag lunch, eat together gathered around small tables, then watch a video lesson and discuss its application to our lives. We conclude by sharing prayer requests and a time of small group prayer. And if you already attend, invite a friend, we don’t bite or ask for credit card information.
