Our Story

Rooted in Faith, Growing Through Generation

Edgewood Church began in 1960 as West Lynnwood Baptist Church — a small group of believers gathering in faith with a shared desire to see God work in their neighborhood. Within a month, they held their first Sunday service and began shaping a community centered on worship and discipleship. By 1965, they broke ground for their second building and soon filled it with the sounds of worship, prayer, and children’s laughter. Those early years were marked by simple faith and steadfast commitment — people who showed up, served faithfully, and believed God would use even a small congregation to do great things.

Becoming Edgewood

By 1975, a new sanctuary and a new name — Edgewood Baptist Church — reflected a growing identity rooted in both faith and mission. The church’s reach expanded as families found belonging, friendships deepened, and worship became a weekly anchor for the Edmonds community. The addition of the Family Activity Center in 1993 provided a new way to gather — through sports, shared meals, and events that connected generations. From children learning about Jesus to adults discovering purpose through service, Edgewood became known as a place where people could grow, serve, and celebrate together.

Renewed for a New Season

In 2024, we embraced a new chapter under Pastor Ronnie Harris as Edgewood Church, carrying forward our rich heritage with a fresh vision for the future. The name may have shortened, but the mission remains the same — to be a church that loves God wholeheartedly, loves people sincerely, and reaches the world around us. This new season is marked by renewed energy, deeper prayer, and a greater desire to serve Edmonds in practical ways. From resurfacing our gym floor to creating spaces for connection, worship, and care, we’re rediscovering what it means to be a church family rooted in grace and alive with purpose.
