Membership at Edgewood

Belonging with Purpose

Membership is about belonging — committing to grow in faith, serve with purpose, and walk in community as part of our church family. It’s more than attendance; it’s a shared journey of discipleship, worship, and mission together.

Who Can Be Part of the Family

Membership is open to anyone who follows Jesus, has been baptized, and desires to be an active part of the Edgewood Church community. It’s for those who want to grow deeper in faith and fellowship.

How to Become a Member

Step 1: Discovery & Engage Class

Our Discovery & Engage class is the first step in learning what it means to belong at Edgewood. You’ll explore our beliefs, mission, and ministries while discovering your place in our church family.

Step 2: Learn What We Believe

You’ll get to know our core values — loving God wholeheartedly, loving others sincerely, and making disciples locally and globally. We’ll walk through our history, mission, and how our Baptist heritage shapes who we are.

Step 3: Living Out Commitment

Membership means walking out your faith through worship, service, and community. Whether through groups, volunteering, giving, or sharing your story, each member plays a vital role in strengthening our church and reaching the world.

Step 4: Welcome to the Family

Once you’ve completed the class and affirmed your commitment, you’ll be joyfully welcomed as part of the Edgewood family. We’ll celebrate your decision during a Sunday service and connect you with next steps to get involved.

What Membership Includes

As a member, you’ll receive regular updates, be part of meaningful service opportunities, and find support in a caring, Christ-centered community. Membership is about connection, accountability, and growing together in faith and mission.
Do I need to be baptized first?
Yes. We believe baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and an essential step before becoming a member.
What if I’m coming from another church?
If you’re transferring from another church family, we’ll walk through your background and faith journey to ensure a smooth transition into life at Edgewood.
Do I have to renew my membership?
Membership at Edgewood doesn’t expire, but staying engaged — through worship, service, and giving — keeps your connection to the church vibrant and active.
